Hi, my name is Rick Soileau, and I’m excited to share my love of art with you.

I’ve been a professional artist and art educator for the over 40 years. I have shared my love for art with students of all ages during that time. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of mediums including acrylic, alkyd oils, pen and ink and more recently I have been using Procreate to create work on my iPad.

A little more about me….

I was born in Louisiana and started expressing myself artistically at an early age. My interest in creating really started to grow when I was about 10 or 12 years old. I have been lucky to have great art instructors in my life who helped me to develop my skills. Watching them share their passion for the world of art inspired me along my journey of becoming an artist.

Since those early days, I haven’t looked back. I have continued to grow as an artist and I am excited about my journey. I am always trying new ways of expressing myself through the visual arts. Learning about art and new art mediums is exciting to me because it gives me more options when I am creating works of art. Over the past few years several of my AP Studio students have been using iPads and Procreate to create several of their pieces. I became more and more interested in what they were able to create in the digital world of art. Recently I’ve started to experiment with digital art myself and I look forward to sharing some of those pieces soon. I find it to be an excellent medium and have introduced it to my students at school by incorporating iPads into our AP Studio class.

I look forward to whatever the future brings and I am so grateful to share my lifelong passion with everyone. I hope you enjoy my work and thanks for sharing my artistic journey!
